Needs and Characteristics of Vocational and Educational Counselling: A Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis on the Austrian Consulting Landscape
Abstract
The Austrian Public Employment Service is a crucial and active mainstay and provider when it comes to educational and vocational counselling, not least because of its vocational information centres and the diverse materials and information sources it publishes. To continue to support counsellors and trainers in the best way possible, thorough information on their working conditions, challenges and needs is vital.
Therefore, abif is going to interview counselling services to identify their needs when it comes to information materials for themselves but also for their clients (e.g. content, media type, hard-copy vs. digital, etc.). Additionally, abif will determine which are the main target groups and how the PES can address their needs. Inter alia different counselling formats will be presented and evaluated for their capacity to meet the information requirements.
