Project "Job Broker - Competences"

Project Title

Certification and Qualification for Europe’s Job Brokers (CQJB)

Abstract

Outcome in terms of successful and sustainable placements becomes increasingly important as performance indicator for measures of active labour market policy (ALMP) across Europe resulting in outcome orientated contracting of providers of ALMP measures. In this development a new occupational role emerges: the so-called Job Broker. A Job Broker works as an intermediary agent who stands between job seekers and employers and who’s primary goal is an optimal match between job seekers and employment opportunities.

In October 2018, QCJB (Certification and Qualification for Europe’s Job Brokers) - a new Eramus+ project – was launched. It aims at improving learning and qualification opportunities for job brokers in Europe. It is already the third project dedicated to this newly emerging professional profile. In the first two rounds of the project, a professional profile was developed based on a transnational analysis and non-formal learning resources were developed to support the professional development of practitioners. In the current project, the project partnership aims to develop a new ISO 17024 certification programme for job brokers in order to close the gap in formal qualification opportunities for this occupational group.
