Project "Advertising Analysis I"
Quantitative Analysis of Food Advertising in Television Programmes for Children
The project covers quantitative monitoring, documentation and analysis of television programmes of the TV-stations ORF, ATV, KIKA and Super-RTL. The focus of analysis is set on the quantity of advertising in general. Especially food advertising is observed more accurate.
The TV-programmes are observed at two different weeks between May and September 2006 (three workdays, saturday, sunday, 1 pm - 7 pm, a total amount of 240 hours of monitoring). Special attention is paid to the existence of a clear separation between editorial contant and advertisement.
