Project "Career Guidance"
Project Title
Practical handbook vocational orientation
Abstract
On basis of the research project “Vocational orientation in the focus of active labour policy", which was accomplished in 2003 on behalf of the AMS Austria (AMS/BIQ) (see AMS report 37 and/or AMS info. 64), a handbook on vocational orientation with numerous methods and practical tips was compiled.
Since for Austria such a publication is almost a novelty, it can be assumed that there is a pronounced interest in such a detailed, practice-oriented handbook, which systematizes relevant methods and tools of labour market practiced-oriented vocational orientation.
To the extent of approx. 120 to 150 pages methods based on experiences made by trainers who are active in labour marketnear courses (e.g courses promoted by the AMS), are represented following the structure below:
Introduction: Specifics of measures in the BO- and activation range
0. Prefaces to the structure
1. beginning of the course: Expectations, objectives, becoming acquainted to each other
2. orientation, locating, reframing work, activation, motivation
