Project "AI Handbook"

Project Title

Perspectives on the Use of AI in Educational and Career Counseling – Development and Implementation of a Web-Optimized Handbook for Career Guidance

Abstract

The rapid development of generative artificial intelligence is fundamentally transforming both the labor market and educational and career counseling. AI-supported applications such as chatbots, automated skills assessments, and digital information platforms open up new possibilities for counseling practice, but at the same time raise questions regarding quality, data protection, ethics, and professional use.

The goal of the project is to develop a web-optimized practical handbook that provides education and career counselors, staff at AMS Career Information Centers (BIZ), trainers, and other stakeholders in adult education with practical guidance on the use of AI in counseling. The handbook provides foundational knowledge, describes specific application scenarios, defines quality standards, and addresses ethical and data protection requirements.

Methodologically, the project is based on a comprehensive analysis of national and international scholarly literature, expert interviews, and two workshops with counselors to ensure quality and further develop the content. The results will be published in the form of a modular, web- optimized handbook and a summary (AMS info) and disseminated through workshops and professional events.
