Project "Older Employees"
Project Title
The Employment Situation of Older Employees: Chances and Barriers
Abstract
The group of the older employees is taking an ever-bigger place on the labour market and will gain in importance for enterprises in the future. In the framework of the project there is going to be examined, which new work forms are of importance in the group of people between 45 to 65 years old and how older persons’ employment can be promoted.
Firstly within the scope of a literature analysis the status of research in the German-speaking countries as well as successful labour policies in the European Union are presented. In a secondary statistic analysis the people are made aware of the situation of older employees on the Austrian labour market. By means of expert interviews possible groups of risks are to be identified regarding their careers and then the results considering measures for older employees are to be compiled.
In qualitative interviews with the affected persons different new forms of employment are pointed out and possible problems as well as special needs of the target group are brought up for discussion.
