Project "VORANGE"
Project Title
Vocational Rehabilitation in Change
Abstract
Social and economic changes require new qualification profiles of employees and therefore new curricula within the vocational training systems. These changes also affect the systems of vocational rehabilitation where several levels come together; namely the vocational, medical and social.
It is therefore necessary to describe the goals, contents and procedures in vocational rehabilitation and to develop proposals for change. The research co-operation in the realm of the EU programme Leonardo da Vinci 2 compares the systems of rehabilitation in the participating countries. Phase 1 describes the rehabilitation systems in the partner countries. Phase II compares the vocational rehabilitation of patients with cancer, heart and circulatory problems, motory illnesses, handicaps caused by accidents at work and psychological or psychiatric handicaps. The results of these analyses will be the basis for proposals to affect changes in the vocational rehabilitation systems.
The project community consists of training institutions for vocational rehabilitation as well as research institutes. Further project partners are located in Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Spain.
